The theme in EN1311 this semester is "childhood." I will offer common texts about the phenomenon of girls starting their periods earlier, 13-years olds working after school at auto-body plants in Alabama, and the protective factors provided to small children because of the resilience of Latinx families.

I would be grateful if you could offer a broad intro to the subscription databases as you did last semester. I don't plan to limit 1311 students to Gale General One-File as I don't think that worked, so show them any databases you feel will be most helpful.
