Session Date and Time:
09/11/2025 12:35 pm

Where will the class meet?*Please include reservation information if the session will take place in another location outside of your usual location.:
We meet weekly in AT&T 106, but if it is an option for me to take them over to the library for the presentation I would be open to that as an option.

How long will the session be?:
45min-1hour

Number of students anticipated:
25

Please upload a copy of the assignment for the Librarian.:
final%20report%20outline.docx

What citation style are you asking your students to use?:
APA

If a copy of the assignment is not available please briefly describe the assignment below.:
I attached a brief outline of our project 1 where they will be conducting secondary data analysis of quantitative variables so the main focus that I was hoping this presentation would help is to conduct a literature search for the "Introduction" section of their full report. They will need to have reliable and at least 4-5 peer reviewed sources for their introduction. Topics and variables have already been chosen by each group based on the dataset available variables.

What skills do you expect the Librarian to teach during the session?:
Search strategy/infoseeking, Bibliographic/Citation assistance

What is the topic students will be searching?:
There is a variety of topics across the groups but they each have picked based on GSS Key Trends Variables.

Please provide a copy of your course's syllabus.:
sc4383%20syllabus%20fa25%20pdf.pdf

What do you want students to be able to do by the end of the session? (Desired Learning Outcomes):
To search and find reliable sources or peer-reviewed sources for their topic of interest. To assess and narrow down which articles would be suitable to help them explore the literature in their topic area. To understand the basics of APA citation usage (I will be doing a more in-depth PowerPoint at a later class date).
