There is no assignment I would just like the librarian to come and address the following module objectives: 🟢 Objective 1: Identify credible sources of information • Characteristics of credible vs. non-credible sources (authorship, currency, bias, references) • Peer-reviewed journals vs. websites, blogs, and social media • Evaluating sources using the CRAAP test (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose) • Examples: AJN, Nursing Outlook, UpToDate vs. WebMD or Wikipedia ________________________________________ 🔵 Objective 2: Explain how nurses use data • Types of data nurses encounter: patient data, quality metrics, incident reports, chart reviews • Role of data in: o Evidence-based practice o Quality improvement (e.g., fall rates, infection rates) o Policy decisions and patient outcomes • Documentation in the EHR as a source of structured and unstructured data ________________________________________ 🟣 Objective 3: Apply search strategies to efficiently retrieve peer-reviewed nursing research • Converting clinical questions into searchable keywords (PICO format) • Use of Boolean operators: AND, OR, NOT • Truncation and phrase searching tips • Using limiters and filters (date, peer-reviewed, full text, nursing) ________________________________________ 🟠 Objective 4: Locate nursing literature using academic databases • Overview of key databases: CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Nursing Reference Center • How to access databases through the university library • Demonstration of a basic search in CINAHL or PubMed • Saving, emailing, and citing search results
